18 schools turned out for the annual quadkids competition at East Cheshire Harriers. There were 8 teams in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. Quadkids consists of a 75m sprint, a vortex howler throw, a standing long jump and an energy sapping 600m distance run.
With some fantastic athletes on show the competition was never short of excitement with everyone putting all they could into each event to give their teams the best possible chance of winning.
The winners of each event go on to represent Tameside in the Manchester summer games and after some hard fought events it was Russell Scott who were declared winners of the morning competition with Greenside winning the afternoon event.
There is a gold medal presented to the best girl and boy for the most points scored and this years award went to our very own Sophie Francis- Cooper. Well done team and well done Sophie!
